Neat, Sweet & Tiny Home Orchard Wedding:

B&Y -23rd May 2020

Disappointingly, for  B&Y their initial hopes of an April wedding were thwarted by COVID-19 Lockdown restrictions…finally managing to tie the knot – with a little help from myself… in B’s Nana’s orchard on her beautiful farm in Okaihua…this really was a ‘neat sweet and tiny wedding’… B’s brother was both the photographer and one of the two witnesses, there were just four other people present…

B’s Mum did such a good job of the styling – making 100’s of silver origami paper swans which fluttered in the branches of the olive trees… origami swans are often used as wedding decorations because swans mate for life, and are a long-standing symbol of eternal love…and were just perfect for this very intimate ‘garden’ wedding.

Because of COVID-19, Y’s Japanese family and friends could only watch the ceremony via Livestream, but they were still energetic and enthusiastic participants during the ceremony – judging by the loud cheers when I greeted them with my very best pronunciation of ‘Kon’nichiwa’…

B knew Y was ‘the one’ when on their 2nd date she caught a ‘massive’ fish… which he later cooked for dinner…and for Y, B was the last piece of the puzzle that made her complete…a really neat, sweet couple…who couldn’t help but show their joy at becoming HUSBAND and WIFE…

With English being the 2nd language of the B2B… these two lovely people were always going to be a duo of few words, however, B did email me later on their special day to say “Thank you so much again it was a lovely ceremony”…from B, I take this as a real compliment…

Congratulations B & Y – thank you for choosing me as your Celebrant – with every best wish for a long and happy life together…Arohanui, Julie xoxo
